Leprino Cheese's closure in Portlaoise will result in 132 job losses.
A Laois TD is hitting out at the IDA for its 'awful' record in the county.
Brian Stanley believes the Foreign Direct Investment Agency has the worst performance in the county and only made two visits to the region in the last 12 months.
This comes as production facility, Leprino Cheese is closing it's doors in Portlaoise next year, resulting in the loss of 132 jobs.
The company says the decision follows a comprehensive evaluation of all possible options to improve the financial and operational performance of the site.
The Independent Rep says having met with the IDA, no improvements have been made yet:
The Government insists the IDA's performance in the Midlands has been "strong" after a Laois TD accused the agency of ignoring his constituency.
Brian Stanley is making the compliant as 132 people working at Leprino Cheese in Portlaoise are facing redundancy in the second half of next year.
The Independent rep believes the situation is symbolic of Enterprise Ireland's indifference to Laois - visiting the county a handful of times in the last four years.
Minister of State Department of Public Expenditure says the government is committed to the region:
