Laois TD Urges Support For Young Farmers Falling Short Of Slurry Standards

Grants are given to farmers through the TAMS scheme.

A Laois TD is asking the Agriculture Minister to allow young farmers access to targeted support schemes even if they're failing to meet compliance requirements.

The TAMS scheme gives grants to farmers to build and improve certain farm buildings and equipment, including low emission slurry spreading and storing nutrients.

Fine Gael's Willie Aird wants farmers below slurry storage compliance requirements to be given access to these supports to help them get up to standard.
