Brian Stanley is calling for an expansion of the Garda DRIVE Initiative.
A Laois TD says drug debts are being collected through fear, intimidation and extortion.
Independent Republican TD Brian Stanley made the point to Justice Minister Jim O'Callaghan in the wake of an arson attack on the English family in Waterford.
Earlier this month, a man was charged in connection with the deaths of four-year-old Tadgh Farrell and his great-aunt, Mary Holt, during a house fire in Edenderry last year.
Deputy Stanley is calling for the Garda DRIVE initiative to be expanded so great awareness can be spread.
He says victims should come forward sooner and share as much information as possible confidentially with Gardai:
