Planning permission for houses in the county rose this year.
A Laois TD is praising the county's track record in new housing developments this year.
Fianna Fail's Sean Fleming is estimating over 1,000 houses are being delivered in the county, accommodating up to 3,000 people.
The latest figures from the CSO shows 474 new homes in Laois were granted planning permission in Q3 this year compared to just 46 in 2024 - a rise of 930% when compared to the same period last year.
