Portlaoise aims to be carbon neutral.

Works to make a Laois town carbon neutral by 2026 are ahead of schedule.

The plan has been active for just one year with only 7 actions left to complete out of 60.

Portlaoise Climate Alliance is working alongside local organisations to make Portlaoise a carbon neutral town.

The town has also taken major strides in its Decarbonising Zone, with 52 of 59 actions already completed.

Karen Moore from Laois County Council says the aim is to have a cleaner, greener town with natural features:
