Gardaí are continuing to monitor the situation.
A man, believed to be in his 40s, has been taken to Tullamore Hospital with apparent stab wounds.
His injuries are believed to be serious but non life threatening.
Gardaí were called to the scene of a major public order incident in Offaly housing estate at around 1.40pm.
The Garda Armed Support Unit assisted local members of the force at the incident which involved a large number of people in Arden View, Tullamore.
No arrests have been made and investigations are continuing.
