An analysis of Daft.ie has shown the average cost of the properties is €1,500

There are less than 30 properties available to rent in the midlands.

According to Daft, Westmeath is offering the most homes in the region at 13.

That's followed by 11 in Offaly, and there are just six rental properties available in Laois.

The average cost of the homes advertised on Daft is just under €1,500.

The cheapest property on the market per month in the midlands is €700, while the most expensive will set you back €3,500.
