Less Than 5% Of Midlands Local Authorities Have Switched To An Electric Fleet

Midlands local authorities are yet to make a significant move towards using electric vehicles.

The Irish Independent is reporting just 2% of Laois County Council's fleet has been made switched to electric, with just 1% in Westmeath.

Data was not revealed for Offaly County Council.

Of the 21 local authorities which responded to the survey by Geotab, 18 have moved less than 10% of their fleet to electric vehicles.

The Government in the past has said it wants to see the public sector leading the way in adopting environmentally safe practices.
