Borris In Ossory/Mountmellick Councillor Conor Bergin says it's a concern of Mountmellick residents for years as the local authority is set to write to the Transport Minister.
A report carried out by them found a possible N80 double bypass in Mountmellick could run from the Portlaoise and Tullamore side to the Emo side from the town.
