Longford-Westmeath TD Demands Further Action For Mental Health Care

Sorca Clarke is saying more needs to be done to deliver improvements.

Not opposing a motion is not the same as delivering improvements in mental health care.

That's according to Longford-Westmeath TD Sorca Clarke.

An estimated 51,000 people first accessed mental health services through emergency departments and acute hospital wards each year.

In January, Sinn Féin tabled a Dáil motion calling on the Government to provide dedicated mental health emergency rooms in every Model 3 and Model 4 hospital, separate from overcrowded emergency departments.
