Over 150 were shut in the North today due to weather conditions.
Met Eireann is warning of a slow thaw throughout the Midlands following last night's plummeting temperatures and snowfall.
New weather advisories came into effect this morning and will remain in place until 9am tomorrow.
Leinster, Munster, Galway, Cavan, Monaghan and Roscommon are under a low temperature and ice alert, while Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo are subject to a snow and ice warning.
The UK Met Office is issuing a similar advisory in the North, with over 150 schools closed today.
