A man is in custody after allegedly bringing a chainsaw into a Westmeath pub.
Gardai attended the incident at a licensed premises on Church Street in Athlone at approximately 5.15pm on Sunday.
The man, who is in his 40s, appeared in court yesterday afternoon, charged with possession of an offensive weapon, namely a chainsaw.
No injuries are being reported.
