A Westmeath man has appeared in court with charges of threatening to kill or cause serious harm to the Taoiseach, according to the Irish Independent.
32 year old Cory O’Connor of Battery Heights, Athlone was before at a sitting of Athlone District Court.
The incident on October 22nd last year saw a threatening message sent to Mr Martin for Mr O'Connor's Facebook account pledging to stab Mr Martin "the next time he sees him."
O’Connor was consequently remanded on bail subject to strict conditions.
They included orders for the accused to sign on once a week at Athlone Garda Station, to stay off all social media and have no contact with Mr Martin ahead of his anticipated return date for sentencing next month.
