He's due to appear before the courts again next month.
A man charged with committing an alleged arson attack, which resulted in the closure of 13 Longford businesses, affecting 60 jobs and causing in excess of €3m worth of structural damage, has been further remanded in custody and is due to reappear in Longford District Court next month.
55-year-old Guo Zhong Chen, of 9 Belvedere Terrace, Mullingar, Westmeath, appeared before Longford District Court this morning, where Judge Bernadette Owens heard that files were still being prepared for the DPP.
Mr Chen, through his solicitor, Bríd Mimnagh, consented to a further four weeks in custody.
He was produced in court this morning and indicated his understanding of the situation through an interpreter.
Mr Chen will reappear at Longford District Court on Tuesday, October 1.
