The HSA is investigating.
A man has died following a workplace incident in the midlands.
The man in his 30s passed away after falling from a height at a garage on the Old Dublin Road in Mullingar this morning.
A post-mortem is due to take place at a later time, and Gardaí say the coroner has been notified.
The Health and Safety Authority is also due to attend the scene and conduct an investigation.
In a statement to Midlands 103, Gardaí say:
"Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a fatal workplace incident at a garage in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, this morning, Wednesday 4th October 2023.
A man aged in his 30s was pronounced deceased. His body has been removed from the scene. A post mortem will take place at a later time.
The coroner has been notified.
The HSA has been notified and will attend the scene to conduct an examination."
The Health and Safety Authority says:
"The HSA can confirm a fatality of a man due to a fall from a height at a premises on the Old Dublin Road in Mullingar.
The HSA has launched an investigation and as such no further information is available."
