A man has died in a work place incident in Laois.
Gardaí were called to a property in Ballickmoyler, where construction work had been taking place, at approximately 11.30 on Tuesday morning.
The 49-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
The local coroner and the Health and Safety Authority have been notified and his body was removed to Portlaoise Regional Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
The circumstances of the death are not yet known and a spokesperson for the HSA says they are now investigating the incident.
