Heroin and cocaine were discovered after a number of searches in the Midlands and Dublin.
A man in his 40s has appeared in court today charged in connection with a multi-million euro drug seizure.
He was arrested following searches in Laois, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath and Dublin this week, as part of investigations into organised criminal activity linked to drug trafficking.
During the searches, Gardaí seized cocaine and heroin to the value of 8.2 million euro, along with cash totalling 38 thousand pounds sterling and 63 thousand euro.
The charged man appeared before the Criminal Courts of Justice this afternoon.
