A man in his 60's is in criticial condition after a serious crash yesterday in Westmeath.
The two-car collision took place yesterday evening shortly before half five on the Dublin Road in Moate.
The first motorist, a man in his 60's, was taken by air ambulance to the Mater Hospital in Dublin where he is receiving surgery.
The second motorist, a man in his 70's, was not injured.
The road is now reopened and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
