A man in his 30s is in a serious condition in hospital following a collision in the midlands.
He was seriously injured in a collision with a tractor in Cappincur at around 6pm yesterday evening, and was taken to the Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore for treatment.
The driver of the tractor, a man in his 80s, was uninjured but was treated for shock at the scene.
A technical examination of the area was carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the road has since re-opened.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, particularly those with camera or dashcam footage, to contact Tullamore Garda Station.
