A man is continuing to receive treatment for serious injuries after an assault in Westmeath.
The incident occurred at a home on the Lynn Road in Mullingar at around 5.45pm on Thursday evening.
A man in his late 30s was taken to Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore for treatment of serious injuries sustained during the assault.
Gardaí are continuing to investigate the matter, and are asking witnesses with camera or dashcam footage to make it available to them.
