MEP Wants Emergency Intervention In Energy Crisis

European Commission President has promised to address inflation in the energy market.

An emergency energy intervention could see a cap being placed on the price of gas.

That's according to Ireland South MEP Billy Kelleher, who also says decoupling gas as a benchmark for pricing electricity should be considered.

European Commission President Ursula Von der Leyen says they're working on an emergency intervention in the energy market. 

The Fianna Fáil MEP says some member states may slow down the progress of the move:
