A midlands actress has been shadowing medics to prepare for a new role.
Mullingar's Niamh Algar is getting ready to embody the persona of Dr. Lucinda Edwards in a new thriller, titled 'Malpractice.'
The Irish Daily Star reports the show-leading star has been speaking to doctors to get a sense of 'what it's like to work in that environment.'
The show follows the story of Algar's character at the centre of an investigation after one of her patients dies.
Malpractice kicks off on ITV on Sunday at 9pm, and will air for five weeks.
Ms. Algar joins Helen Behan, James Purefoy, Katie Carmichael and Hannah Waters in the medical thriller.
