Animal welfare representatives attended.
Foxes in black-tie and ball gowns danced the foxtrot outside the Castle Arms Hotel in Durrow on Saturday, 7th February, as part of a creative protest against foxhunting.
The Anti-Hunt Ball, organised by Laois artist and wildlife rescue volunteer Rebecca Deegan, took place during the Laois Hunt Annual Ball to promote cruelty free alternatives such as drag hunting and scent work.
Representatives from Laois SPCA and Kildare Wildlife Rescue joined members of the public, including former hunt supporters, in the demonstration.
Former hunt attendee Veronica said she once saw hunting as powerful poetry in motion but later realised the reality for foxes.
