After that his body will be released into the care of his family, with a state funeral possibly to come later this week.
Private Rooney's Mother, mother's partner, fiancée Holly McConnellogue, three uncles serving in the Defence Forces and grandfather all stood inside hangar number 5 at Casement Aerodrome in West Dublin this morning.
