A midlands charity will be unable to help the homeless, because of Joe Biden's visit.

Portlaoise Action to Homelessness have been forced to cancel their trip to Dublin, as many of the streets on their rounds will be closed off in preparation for the visit of the US President.

PATH Chairperson Irene Redmond says they would typically provide 100 or so people in the capital with clothes, food and drinks.

She says the situation is shocking:
