Hundreds of acres of land remain underwater.

Farmers are calling for more supports to deal with major flooding along the River Shannon.

Homes and businesses have been damaged and hundreds of acres of land are underwater as a result of the recent heavy rain.

With further rain forecast, there have been renewed calls to improve flood defences in affected areas.

All pumps are up and running in Athlone but levels are still rising and will continue to do so for another few days.
