Midlands Fire Station Derelict For 20 Years Set For New Purpose

One local councillor says it'll breath new life into the town.

There are calls for a derleict fire station in Westmeath to be turned into a hub for volunatry groups. 

The building in Moate has been without a tennant for almost twenty years after a shortage of staff caused the closure of the station. 

Fine Gael cllr Tom Farrell wants it to be available for use by the tidy towns committee and other local voluntary groups in a measure he believes will breathe new life into the town.
