An initiative to help support vulnerable families, women farmers and rural communities in Africa is being launched in Offaly today.
'A Midlands Fundraiser for Self Help Africa' is a farmer led charity initiative, led by Offaly farmer Pat Mahon, raising vital funds for livestock and rural development projects for disadvantaged communities throughout Africa.
Farmers across the region are being asked to donate an animal in aid of the charity, with a fundraising livestock sale taking place at Tullamore Mart on September 28th.
