A new spotlight is falling on the Midlands as two of its holiday destinations are being named among the most attractive in Ireland.
The Irish Independent's Fab 50 list features the Laois venue, Ómós guesthouse and restaurant, set near Abbeyleix.
It came 40th on the list for its blend of fine dining and restored heritage accommodation.
Meanwhile in Westmeath, Samsú luxurious cabins was named 15th - attracting visitors looking for digital detox escapes in its cosy, nature immersed cabins.
The recognition highlights a growing demand for sustainable and experience driven stays outside Ireland’s major cities.
