Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise is apologising for disruptions caused.
Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise is reiterating that patient admissions remain exceptionally high
Management is encouraging patients with minor illnesses or injuries to consider other healthcare services, including pharmacists and GPs, before attending the hospital.
They are warning that patients attending the Emergency Department with non-urgent conditions can expect long waiting times.
Hospital management says those presenting with less serious conditions are experiencing significant delays before being assessed.
Staff and management have apologised for the disruption and thanked the public for their continued patience, cooperation and understanding.
