The initiative helps hospitals map water use.
The Regional Hospital Mullingar is reviewing its water use to identify where efficiencies can be made.
It's after water conservation orders were issued for 47 supplies - including one in the Mullingar area.
By signing up to the Uisce Eireann Acute Hospital Water Stewardship Programme, the facility will consider using a rain water harvesting system and review and improve it's water monitoring strategies.
The hospital currently uses over 90,000 litres of water every day.
