Patients attending hospitals in the Midlands are seeing the shortest stays on average.
The latest interactive performance dashboard from the Department of Health reveals Midlands Regional Hospital in Portlaoise tops the list with an average stay of just 2.3 days, followed by Mullingar Hospital at 3.2 days.
The average stay in Portiuncula is 3.5 days and Tullamore Hospital records the longest average stay in the region at 4.7 days.
The figures exclude stays longer than 30 days.
