Regional Hospital Mullingar says anyone presenting at its Emergency Department with non-urgent conditions will experience very long waiting times.
Management is asking patients with non-emergency conditions to seek assistance from other parts of the health service where possible.
This includes local injury units, pharmacists, GPs, and GP out of hours services.
Anyone who requires emergency hospital care will be seen, and are being urged to not delay attending the Emergency Department.
