People visiting the ED over the festive season are being given some advice.
Consultant in Emergency Medicine in Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore, Dr Anna Moore, says it's important to take pictures of prescriptions, to keep any letters from your doctor in a safe place and to stay hydrated.
People are also being asked to consider alternative options for more minor injuries, and that having the flu generally does not mean a trip to the ED is necessary - particularly if someone may be infectious.
However, if your health takes a drastic down turn, then it is advisable that you attend your local ED.
