Midlands Landlord Fined €6k Following RTB Ruling On Eviction Notices

The Residential Tenancies Board has issued a decision against Nigel Brennan.

A Midlands Landlord is being ordered to pay €6,000 in damages after attempting to terminate a tenancy over alleged antisocial behaviour.

The Irish Times is reporting the judgement was issued by the Residential Tenancies Board against Nigel Brennan who issued multiple "unwarranted" notices of termination to tenant Charlean Reilly at an address at Ticknevin, Carbury in Kildare.

A tribunal found Mr Brennan's opposition to Ms Reilly's partner affected his view of the tenant.

He issued three notices of termination across March, April, and May of last year, citing what he called antisocial behaviour.

The RTB said the tenant was not responsible to the alleged behaviour and ordered Brennan to pay €6,000 in damages.
