Midlands Local Authority To Hold Emergency Meeting

It's in response to the restrictions being imposed.

An emergency meeting of Offaly's local authority is to be called in response to the government decision to impose a local Covid 19 lockdown on Laois, Offaly and Kildare

The Cathaoirleach of Offaly County Council says businesses and the community are upset and frustrated and need leadership now.

Independent Councillor John Carroll says he's liaising with acting CEO Tom Shanaghan for the council to meet on Tuesday.

He says the lockdown brings uncertainty that couldn't have come at a worse time for enterprise in the county.
