He passed away on Monday evening.
The Laois man, who died following an incident with a lorry on Monday evening, will be laid to rest later this week.
Seamus O'Riordan, from Mountmellick, has been remembered as quiet man, who just liked to go for a walk.
His funeral mass will take place on Thursday in St Joseph's Church in Mountmellick at 2pm.
The burial will take place afterwards in St Joseph's cemetery.
Seamus is survived by his siblings Margaret, Donal, Mary, Tom and Ger.
