Midlands MEP Calls For Greater Sepsis Awareness In Schools And Communities

Around 700,000 people die each year across the EU from sepsis.

A Midlands MEP is calling for increased awareness and education about sepsis across schools, clubs, and local communities.

An estimated 700,000 people die from Sepsis each year across the EU, while in Ireland, the HSE National Sepsis Report 2024 recorded over 12,000 cases.

Ciaran Mullooly says families and campaigners should not be left to shoulder the responsibility of public education alone and funding should be made available for awareness campaigns.
