That's the message from Midlands MEP Barry Cowen after plans for an expansion of the Banagher Chilling abattoir have been shelved after years in planning limbo.
MEP Cowen backed the project when first approved in 2019 during his time as an Laois-Offaly TD, which was set to create over 100 jobs for the Midlands.
