Midlands MEP Barry Cowen is accusing the associations like the IFA of playing politics when it comes to the Larry Murrin debate.
The Fianna Fail rep is singing the praises of the Irish beef industry, pointing to a 24 per cent increase in beef exports last year to 3.4 billion euro.
It comes as the Irish Farmers Association continues its campaign calling for the resignation of the Bord Bia Chair for importing beef from Brazil through his company Dawn Farm Foods.
