Midlands MEP To Host Livestock Export Crisis Meeting

The meeting will take this Saturday at the Athlone Springs Hotel.

A Westmeath hotel is to host a public meeting on what's being described as livestock export crisis this weekend.

A gathering organised by Midlands MEP Ciarán Mullooly will take place this Saturday at the Athlone Springs Hotel at 7:30pm, following Brittany Ferries’ announcement that it will cease transporting animals to France.

Roscommon-Galway TD Michael Fitzmaurice and fellow Independent Ireland TDs and Councillors will also be joining the event.

Mr Mullooly says measures need to be put in place to ensure the service remains operational:
