Midlands MEP Urges Meta To Roll Out New Teen Safety Measures In Ireland

Meta claims its new measures will raise the bar for protecting teenagers.

A Midlands MEP is appealing to Meta to introduce its new child-safety measures in Ireland and throughout the European Union.

Meta says it’s setting a new industry standard for protecting teenagers after the owner of Facebook and Instagram agreed to pay up to $18 billion to settle claims it designed its platforms to get children hooked.

The company's limiting teenagers to two hours of use a day, blocking access between midnight and 6am and muting most school-time notifications.
