Midlands MEP Wants Extension Of Brexit Transition Period

The UK is on course to leave the EU at the end of next month.

A Fine Gael MEP's calling for the British Prime Minister to seek an extension of the Brexit transition period. 

The UK is on course to leave the EU at the end of next month, after MPs backed Boris Johnson's withdrawal agreement yesterday. 

From February until December 2020, Britain would then enter a transition period. 

But Sean Kelly, MEP for Ireland South, which covers Laois and Offaly, says the British Prime Minister won't be able to negotiate a trade deal with the EU in 11 months:
