A junior minister in the midlands is drafting legislation to protect against ticket touting.

Fianna Fáil's Robert Troy says while it's already illegal to sell on a ticket above face value, he's working to amend the current law to ensure penalties can be enforced.

The Minster of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment says it's more important than ever that there's fair access to tickets as restricted numbers are allowed to attend events again.

He says the bill will be debated in the Dáil in a matter of weeks:
