Midland motorist caught speeding at 147kmph yesterday.
They were among 592 speeding vehicles monitored by Gardai as part of National Slow Down Day.
Some of the highest speeds recorded were 147km on the M6 in Moate, 146km/h on the N71 at Waterfall Cork ---- and 144km/h on the N7 at Kildare
The operation came to a close at 7am this morning but Gardai are continuing to appeal to drivers to comply with speed limits and save lives this Christmas.
