There's major gaps in neurorehabilitation services in the Midlands.
That's according to Laois TD Willie Aird, following a pre-Budget event, where the Neurological Alliance of Ireland warned of a 'postcode lottery' in neurological care.
A survey found 58% in the Midlands couldn’t access community neurorehabilitation in the past year.
One in four nationally have never accessed the services at all.
No funding has been granted to the Midlands for promised neuro-rehab teams.
The Fine Gael rep says urgent investment in staff and inpatient beds is needed for the Midlands region:
