Midlands Primary School Moves Away From Catholic Patronage

The government aims to have at least 400 multi-denominational primary schools by 2030, to "improve parental choice."

A primary school in Westmeath is set to transfer from Catholic patronage to a multi-denominational community national school.

The Minister for Education, Norma Foley, says Corr Na Madadh National School in Athlone will be part of the Longford and Westmeath Education and Training Board.
