That's according to a new report from Daft.ie.
Rent prices are up nearly 11% year-on-year in the midlands.
Daft's latest report shows the average cost of rent in the region is more than €1,400.
Westmeath is the most expensive of the midlands counties, with an average price of €1,502 - that's followed by €1,432 in Offaly, and €1,422 in Laois.
