A woman living in Portlaoise has been unable to replace her gas boiler since 2024.
Immediate intervention is needed for an elderly woman recovering from cancer living without heating in Laois.
That's according to Independent rep Brian Stanley who is criticising the unfairness of a rule barring government grants from replacing gas boilers.
70 year old Sheila is living in a 20 year old house who has been unable to replace her gas boiler since 2024.
The Portlaoise woman who is recovering from cancer, is unable to use the Housing Aid For Older People Grant as it can only be used for different energy replacements.
