Midlands Senator Calling For Funding For Women's Sports

The Women's Camoige Final is taking part in Croke park today.

Funding for Women's Sports need to be implemented by the Government by next year

That's the call from a Fine Gael Senator who says talented players are role models for young children and deserve fairness, equality and partiality when it comes to training and competing in games.

The Seanad spokesperson on sport says female players have been engaging in a protest, #UnitedforQuality and are demanding a female charter to be put in place.

Longford Senator Michael Carrigy, speaking ahead of the Women's Camoige Final in Croke park today, wants a government commitment:
